WCFM400K is an efficient and economical whole house central filtration system to reduce dissolved iron and manganese compounds from raw water supplies. Reduces iron, manganese, solids, and turbidity with sediment filtration. With an automatic media regeneration feature and digital control valve, the system is maintenance-free after setup. With new technology, WCFM400K whole house water filtration system uses only air for media regeneration. The filter media is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61. Unlike similar systems from other manufactures, iSpring WCFM400K uses no oxidizers or chemical feed other than the same air we breathe. Simple to install and easy to set up. Customizable auto-flush intervals depending on your incoming water quality and usage, saving you time and money in the long run. It is indeed a silent guard at the point of entry for your entire house with well or city water. Note that this system DOES NOT remove hydrogen sulfide(H2S) and would cause system damage if the water contains hydrogen sulfide(H2S). Please consider this WCFM500K for removing hydrogen sulfide(H2S) in water. Unlike an RO system, this system will NOT reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). The system uses air injection with advanced catalytic media to remove iron and manganese from the water. During the backwash process, the system introduces fresh air into the top of the tank. As the water passes through the pocket, it is infused with the oxygen in the fresh air, and the advanced catalytic media is a catalyst between the iron, manganese, and the air. The oxidation process is almost instantaneous; the iron and manganese precipitate and are trapped by the media bed. The system's electronic control valve automatically backwashes the system to clean the filter media and flush the precipitated iron and manganese down to the drain. The filter media inside of the WCFM400K acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen (D.O.) and iron compounds. The dissolved iron is usually in the ferrous bicarbonate state in ground waters due to exceeding free carbon dioxide and is not filterable. The filter media, acting as a catalyst between the oxygen and the soluble iron compounds, enhances the oxidation reaction of Fe2 to Fe3 and produces ferric hydroxide, which precipitates and may be easily filtered. The media is not consumed in the iron removal operation and therefore offers a tremendous economic advantage over many other iron removal methods.
